Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma realized that she wanted to be an actor and for many years she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned singing dancing and acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for these characters. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It beat all previous records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Reviewers were awed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma was awarded five nominations for her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of the Film.
